Pitta vigorsii Gould, 1838
Banda Sea Pitta, Pitta vigorsii, is a passerine in the Pittidae family and breeds in Australasia on Romang, Sermata, Damar and Babar in the Lesser Sundas, and on Banda, Watubela and Kai islands in the Moluccas. It was described by Gould in 1838. It is set apart from nearby pitta species by its entirely white throat. The bird was once treated as part of the Elegant Pitta. Its name refers to the Banda Sea around the islands it occupies.
