Banded Barbets feed on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates, and they nest in tree cavities. They play an important role in forest ecosystems as seed dispersers. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the conservation status of the Banded Barbet is currently categorized as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
