Banded Broadbill

Eurylaimus ochromalus

The Banded Broadbill (Eurylaimus ochromalus) is a distinctive bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. This species is known for its striking appearance, with a black head, bright green upperparts, and a distinctive chestnut band across its breast. Banded Broadbills are small, stocky birds with a short, wide bill, which they use to catch insects in the dense foliage of their forest habitat. They are often found in lowland and montane forests, where they forage for insects and small invertebrates. Despite their vibrant appearance, Banded Broadbills can be elusive and are known for their distinctive calls echoing through the forest canopy.
