Banded Broadbill

Vauriella insignis

The Banded Broadbill (Vauriella insignis) is a small, colorful bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It is known for its striking plumage, with a black head, bright green body, and distinctive white and black bands across its wings. This species is known for its acrobatic flight and melodious, high-pitched calls. Banded Broadbills are insectivorous and forage in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. They are often found in small groups or pairs. Despite their vibrant appearance, they can be difficult to spot due to their preference for dense foliage. The Banded Broadbill is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is believed to be stable.
