Banded Honeyeater, Cissomela pectoralis, is a honeyeater of tropical northern Australia, breeding from north-west Western Australia to Cape York Peninsula and north-east Queensland. It is a small, pied bird with a narrow black band across the white underparts, and black on the back, tail and head. It also has a long curved bill and long legs. It lives in grassy woodland, open forest, mangroves and Melaleuca swamps. It takes nectar from eucalypts and other open flowers, and also insects. It is usually seen in pairs or small groups.
