Banded Prinia, Prinia bairdii, is a bird of central Africa in the family Cisticolidae. It occurs in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest. The species was described by Cassin in 1855. Its breeding range extends across central and east-central Africa, with records from southeast Nigeria through Congo, east to north-east DR Congo and west Uganda, as well as north-west Angola, Burundi, Rwanda, east Uganda and west Kenya. Four subspecies are recognised, and two of them have sometimes been treated as the black-faced prinia.
