Banggai Crow

Corvus unicolor

The Banggai Crow (Corvus unicolor) is a medium-sized, all-black crow species endemic to the Banggai Islands of Indonesia. It is known for its distinctive call and its preference for coastal and lowland forests. This species is highly social, often seen in pairs or small groups, and is known for its intelligence and problem-solving abilities. The Banggai Crow primarily feeds on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates, and plays a crucial role in the ecosystem by dispersing seeds and controlling insect populations. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and hunting, the population of Banggai Crows is declining, and they are currently listed as Endangered by the IUCN.
