The Bar-tailed Godwit is a long-distance migratory bird known for its remarkable non-stop flights during migration. It has a long, slightly upturned bill, and its plumage varies from pale grey to rufous, with distinctive black and white bars on its tail. During the breeding season, it can be found in the Arctic tundra, nesting on the ground in open areas. In winter, it migrates to coastal mudflats and estuaries, where it forages for invertebrates in the mud. This species is known for its incredible endurance and is capable of flying thousands of kilometers without stopping.
