Bar-winged Weaver, Ploceus angolensis, is a bird of mature evergreen forest and miombo woodland in Angola, south-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia. It belongs to the weaver family and was described by Barboza du Bocage in 1878. The species is marked by dark upperparts, a blackish-brown head and wings, white-tipped wing feathers, and a yellow stripe across the wing. The underparts are paler, with the female showing more white. The bill is black, the legs brown, and the iris red.
