Metriopelia ceciliae (Lesson, RP, 1845)
Bare-faced Ground Dove, Metriopelia ceciliae, is a Columbidae species that breeds in South America from Peru to northern Chile. It is a ground-dwelling dove of arid and semi-arid country with sandy soil and sparse vegetation, and it also uses human settlements in higher areas where the surrounding land lacks trees. In Peru it is recorded from western, northern and southern parts of the country, and it also occurs in western Bolivia and north-western Argentina. It is usually found between 2,000 and 4,500 m, though in western Peru it can occur much lower.
