Bare-headed Laughingthrush, Melanocichla calva, is a bird of montane forest in Sarawak and Sabah on Borneo, where it occurs in the highlands of the north-central part of the island and on some nearby peaks. It belongs to the Timaliidae family and was described by Sharpe in 1888. The bird is notable for its bare head, which is brownish to greenish yellow, with a bluish tint along the lower bill. The rest of the plumage is dull blackish-brown with grey tones.
