Barlow's Lark

Calendulauda barlowi

Barlow's Lark, Calendulauda barlowi, is a lark of south-west Namibia and north-west South Africa. It lives in dry lowland grassland and is part of the genus Calendulauda. The form barlowi, together with patae and cavei, was once treated as a separate species before being merged with the dune lark. That change was made because the birds show very little genetic separation and are essentially alike in size and vocalisations.
