Barred Antthrush

Barred Antthrush, Chamaeza mollissima, is a passerine of the antthrush family found in Colombia to northern Peru, and from south-eastern Peru to central Bolivia. It lives on the ground in humid to wet montane forest and cloudforest with thick undergrowth, especially where fallen trees carry plenty of moss and lichen. The breeding range is split, with one part in Colombia and Ecuador and another in Peru and Bolivia. It was described by Sclater in 1855, and two subspecies are recognised.
