Barred Parakeet, Bolborhynchus lineola, is a psittaciform bird of Middle America and South America, breeding from southern Mexico to Colombia and Peru. It is found in highland forests across tropical Latin America, with separate populations in the Santa Marta Mountains of Colombia, the Venezuelan Coastal Range, and the Andean foothills. Its plumage is mainly green, marked with dark stripes and bars, and it has a pale peach-coloured bill. The strength of the darker markings differs between the two subspecies. It is also kept in aviculture, where several colour forms are available.
