Bartlett's Tinamou

Bartlett's Tinamou, scientifically known as Crypturellus bartletti, is a small ground-dwelling bird found in the tropical forests of South America. This species is known for its secretive nature and is often heard more than seen. Bartlett's Tinamou has a mottled brown plumage that provides excellent camouflage in its dense forest habitat. It forages on the forest floor for seeds, fruits, and insects. Due to habitat loss and hunting, the population of Bartlett's Tinamou is declining, and it is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
