Bay-chested Warbling Finch, Castanozoster thoracicus, is a tanager from south-eastern Brazil in South America. It occurs in the mountains of the south and south-east, with records from the coastal ranges near the Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro border and from the highlands through Paraná, São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. Its habitat includes woodland edges, open woodland, scrub and clearings, and it is associated with temperate forests and moist montane forests. The bird is a dainty, warbler-like finch, and the male shows a bright reddish-brown breast-band set against paler underparts.
