Bay Hornero, Furnarius torridus, is a passerine of the Furnariidae, breeding in the western Amazon and its tributaries in South America. It was described by Sclater, PL & Salvin in 1866. It is a stout hornero with a long, almost straight bill, and the sexes look alike. Adults show a dull buff-white supercilium, greyish-brown crown and nape, and chestnut-brown upperparts and wings, with a white throat and dark tawny brown on the breast and flanks. It is resident all year and builds a mud dome nest with a side entrance on a horizontal branch.
