Bay-ringed Tyrannulet Phylloscartes sylviolus is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family, breeding in south-east Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-east Argentina. It lives in humid evergreen forest, both within the interior and along the margins, in lowland and foothill areas from sea level up to 600 m. It is a monotypic species. The sexes look alike, and adults show rufous-chestnut lores that continue into a broad eye-ring, with bright olive upperparts and dusky wings marked by pale yellow wing bars.
