Bearded Scrub Robin

Criniger barbatus

The Bearded Scrub Robin (Criniger barbatus) is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive bearded appearance, with a black throat and breast, and a bright rufous belly. The upperparts are olive-brown, and the wings and tail are a darker shade. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. Bearded Scrub Robins forage for insects and berries in the undergrowth, and they are often observed hopping and flitting among the dense vegetation. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future concerns for this species.
