Pteroglossus beauharnaisii
Beauharnais's Toucan, also known as the red-billed toucan, is a medium-sized toucan found in the Amazon rainforest of South America. It is recognized by its striking red and yellow bill, black plumage, and a distinctive white patch at the base of the bill. These toucans are highly social birds and are often seen in small flocks, feeding on fruits, insects, and small reptiles. They play an important role in seed dispersal within the rainforest ecosystem. Beauharnais's Toucans are known for their vocalizations, which include a variety of croaks, rattles, and calls. Despite their vibrant appearance, they are often difficult to spot amidst the dense foliage of the rainforest.
