Beautiful treerunner

Poecilotriccus pulchellus

The beautiful treerunner (Poecilotriccus pulchellus) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is known for its distinctive high-pitched song and active foraging behavior, often seen hopping and flitting among the dense foliage. This species is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, bright yellow underparts, and a distinct white eyering. It primarily feeds on small insects and spiders, which it gleans from leaves and branches. The beautiful treerunner typically nests in the understory, constructing a cup-shaped nest from plant fibers and spider silk. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to its populations.
