Beck's Petrel

Beck's Petrel, Pseudobulweria becki, is a petrel of the Pacific Ocean, with a likely breeding range on montane New Ireland in the north-eastern Bismarck Archipelago. Outside the breeding season it has been recorded in the eastern Bismarck Archipelago, from Buka to Temotu in the Solomon Islands and in Vanuatu, with further records from Geelvink Bay and the north-central Moluccas. It is a dark brown bird above and on the head and throat, with white underparts, a pale wingbar and dark underwings. Its wings are held straight in flight, with the tips slightly turned back.
