Bell's Vireo, Vireo bellii, is a passerine of the Vireonidae family that breeds from south-western and south-central USA through Middle America to Nicaragua. It was described by Audubon in 1844. A notable form is the least Bell's Vireo, Vireo bellii pusillus, found in Southern California and treated as endangered. Its decline has been linked mainly to the loss of riparian habitat, and the species has influenced some land development plans to safeguard that habitat.
