Belted Flycatcher, Xenotriccus callizonus, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family that breeds in southern Mexico, south-west Guatemala and north-west El Salvador. It was first described in 1927. The bird is a member of a small genus shared only with the Pileated Flycatcher, and it is the sole species in its own form. It lives in highland woodland, especially oak and pine-oak forest, where it uses dense brush and scrub in the understorey. Its range is centred on Middle America, and it is a year-round resident there.
