Parotia berlepschi
Berlepsch's six-wired bird-of-paradise is a medium-sized bird-of-paradise found in the mountain forests of Papua New Guinea. The male has iridescent black plumage with six wire-like feathers emerging from its back. During courtship displays, it performs intricate dances and vocalizations to attract females. The female is smaller and has brown plumage with a buff-colored throat. This species plays a vital role in the ecosystem by dispersing seeds and contributing to forest regeneration.
