Colaptes oceanicus Olson, 2013
Bermuda Flicker, Colaptes oceanicus, is an extinct woodpecker from Bermuda in the Picidae family. It is known from fossil material found on the island, with remains from Late Pleistocene deposits and a single juvenile bone from a Holocene layer. The species was described by Olson in 2013. An old account from the 1600s may also have referred to it, suggesting it may have survived into the period of early settlement on Bermuda.
