Black-and-tawny Seedeater, Sporophila nigrorufa, is a bird of the tanager family that breeds in south-western Brazil and Bolivia. It occurs in the Pantanal region of eastern Bolivia and the neighbouring part of Brazil, and it is also recorded sparsely in La Pampa Province in Argentina. Its habitat is seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland in subtropical or tropical areas. Habitat loss threatens it.
