Black-and-white-casqued Hornbill

Bycanistes brevis

The Black-and-white-casqued Hornbill is a large bird found in the forests of central Africa. It is known for its striking black and white plumage, with a large casque on top of its bill. These hornbills are important seed dispersers and play a key role in maintaining the diversity of the forest ecosystem. They are often seen in pairs or small groups, foraging for fruits and small animals. Their distinctive call can be heard echoing through the forest canopy. Despite their large size, they are agile fliers and can maneuver through the dense forest with ease.
