Black-backed Dwarf Kingfisher, Ceyx erithaca, is a kingfisher of the Oriental Region, breeding from the Indian subcontinent to south-east China, Indochina and Thailand. It is found in lowland forest, usually close to streams or ponds. The bird is set apart by its blue-black back, with red bill, yellow-orange underparts and lilac-rufous upperparts. It was described by Linnaeus in 1758 and belongs to the family Alcedinidae in the order Coraciiformes.
