Ficedula timorensis (Hellmayr, 1919)

Black-banded Flycatcher, Ficedula timorensis, is a bird of Timor in the Lesser Sundas, where it breeds in Australasia. It belongs to the Muscicapidae family and was described by Hellmayr in 1919. Endemic to Timor island, it is an uncommon and hard-to-find species of lowland monsoon forest and hill forest up to 1200 m. It has a broad bill and marked plumage, with a white belly, lower rump and throat, a black band across the chest, black tail, neck and wings, and rich chestnut on the back, upper wing and shoulders.
