The Black-billed Cuckoo, scientifically known as Coccyzus erythropthalmus, is a slender, long-tailed bird found in North and Central America. This species is known for its distinctive call, a series of soft, hollow-sounding notes. It primarily feeds on insects, especially caterpillars, and is known to forage in dense foliage. The Black-billed Cuckoo is a secretive bird that is often difficult to spot due to its shy nature and excellent camouflage. It is known to migrate to South America for the winter, where it resides in tropical forests. The conservation status of this species is currently labeled as Least Concern by the IUCN.
