Black-billed Streamertail Trochilus scitulus is a hummingbird of far eastern Jamaica, where it breeds in the island’s extreme east. It is the form with the black bill, and the male is marked by a long pair of tail streamers that give the bird its English name. The species is found in evergreen montane forest, lowland tropical forest and secondary forest, from sea level to 1,500 m. It is an elevational migrant and is present in the lowlands as well as at middle and higher levels. The species was described by Brewster and Bangs in 1901.
