Black-billed Thrush

Turdus ignobilis

The Black-billed Thrush (Turdus ignobilis) is a medium-sized thrush found in South America. It has a dark olive-brown upperparts and a white belly with dark spots. The bill is black and the eyes are yellow. This species is known for its melodious, flute-like song that can be heard in the forest understory. Black-billed Thrushes are typically found in humid forests, including montane and lowland rainforests, where they forage for insects, fruits, and berries. They are often seen hopping on the forest floor or perched in the mid-story. The conservation status of the Black-billed Thrush is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
