Black-capped Becard

Pachyramphus minor

The Black-capped Becard is a small, insect-eating bird found in the forests and woodlands of Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive black cap and white throat, with a grayish body and wings. This species is often found foraging for insects and small fruits in the canopy and mid-levels of the forest. It builds its cup-shaped nest in the fork of a tree, and both the male and female share in the incubation and care of the young. The Black-capped Becard is not currently considered to be at risk, but habitat loss and deforestation are potential threats to its populations.
