Black-capped Bulbul, Rubigula melanictera, is a passerine of the bulbul family found in Sri Lanka. It is confined to the island and occurs in forest, wooded places and gardens, with breeding records from March to September. It also uses dense scrub. The bird is almost without a crest and shows a yellow throat, brownish eyes, a brown tail with a white tip, and yellowish green upperparts with yellow underparts. The male has red irises and the female brown irises. It nests in bushes, usually lays two to four eggs, feeds on fruit and insects, and is often seen in pairs.
