Empidonax atriceps
The Black-capped Flycatcher, scientific name Empidonax atriceps, is a small, insect-eating bird found in the highland forests of Mexico and Central America. This species is known for its distinctive black cap and olive-green upperparts. It has a pale yellow belly and a noticeable white eyering. The Black-capped Flycatcher is often observed perching in the mid to upper levels of the forest, sallying out to catch flying insects.
