It is characterized by its distinctive black cap and white eye-ring, which contrasts with its olive-green upperparts and yellow underparts. These sociable birds are often found in small flocks, foraging for insects and nectar in the forest canopy. They are known for their melodious and varied songs. The Black-capped White-eye is primarily found in lowland and montane forests, as well as secondary growth and gardens.
