The Black Catbird, scientifically known as Melanoptila glabrirostris, is a medium-sized songbird found in the Yucatan Peninsula and parts of Central America. It is known for its striking black plumage and distinctive call resembling a cat's meow. These birds inhabit dense, humid forests and are often found foraging for insects and fruits in the understory. They are known for their secretive nature and are often heard more than seen.
