Black-cheeked Treehunter

The Black-cheeked Treehunter is a small to medium-sized bird found in the cloud forests of the Andes in South America. It has a distinctive black mask and a rufous crown, with olive-green upperparts and a buffy belly. This species is known for its unique foraging behavior, where it gleans insects from leaves and branches in the understory of the forest. It also has a melodious song that can often be heard echoing through the misty cloud forests. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the Black-cheeked Treehunter is considered vulnerable to extinction.
