Black-chinned Antbird, Hypocnemoides melanopogon, is a passerine of the antbird family breeding in central and northern Amazonia in South America. It was first described by Sclater in 1857. The species is tied to lowland evergreen forest, especially várzea beside major rivers, smaller streams and lake margins, where it keeps to low growth over water. It is a resident bird throughout its range. The breeding season appears to run from March to July, and the nest is a hanging pouch made from fine roots, with two eggs laid inside.
