The Black-crowned Tityra (Tityra inquisitor) is a medium-sized passerine bird found in Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive black head and white body, with a small red patch at the base of the bill. These birds are often found in open woodlands, forest edges, and secondary growth habitats. They are known for their unique behavior of forming small groups and perching conspicuously in the open. Black-crowned Tityras are primarily insectivorous, feeding on a variety of insects and occasionally small fruits. Their conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
