Black-crowned Waxbill, Estrilda nonnula, is a bird of western-central Africa in the waxbill family. Its breeding range is in Africa, and it occurs across south-eastern Nigeria and Cameroon, extending to south-eastern Sudan, western Kenya and north-western Tanzania. It was described by Hartlaub in 1883. The species is also recorded from Bioko Island and Mount Cameroon, with named forms associated with those places. It belongs to the order Passeriformes and the family Estrildidae.
