Black Cuckooshrike, Campephaga flava, is a bird of the cuckooshrike family found in Africa, from South Sudan and Kenya south-west to Angola, Botswana and eastern South Africa. It is also recorded under the name African black cuckooshrike. The species belongs to Passeriformes and was described by Vieillot in 1817. It is part of Campephagidae, the cuckooshrikes, and is closely linked with Petit’s cuckooshrike and the red-shouldered cuckooshrike, with the three forming a superspecies. Its range also includes Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
