Black Eagle
Ictinaetus malaiensis
The Black Eagle, scientifically known as Ictinaetus malaiensis, is a large bird of prey found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. With a wingspan of up to 160 cm, this impressive raptor is known for its striking black plumage, powerful talons, and keen eyesight. The Black Eagle is a skilled hunter, preying on a variety of small to medium-sized mammals and birds. It builds its large stick nest high in the forest canopy, where it raises its young. Due to habitat loss and persecution, the Black Eagle faces conservation challenges in some parts of its range.
