Black-faced Babbler

Black-faced Babbler, Turdoides melanops, is a songbird of south-west Africa, recorded from north-western Botswana, northern Namibia and Angola. It lives low down or on the ground in dense woody growth, and it also uses cultivated areas. Its pale yellow or white eyes and black lores help set it apart from similar babblers. It was formerly treated as the same species as the black-lored babbler, A. sharpei. It forages in leaf litter and is more secretive than other babblers.
