Black-faced Babbler

Turdoides melanops

The Black-faced Babbler (Turdoides melanops) is a medium-sized bird found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its distinctive black face and chestnut-colored body. These social birds are often found in family groups, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in the savannah woodlands and scrub habitats. They are known for their melodious and varied calls, often engaging in cooperative breeding and communal roosting. The Black-faced Babbler is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is stable across its range.
