Black-faced Cotinga, Conioptilon mcilhennyi, is a passerine of the Cotingidae family that breeds in south-west Amazonia. It lives in humid forest in eastern Peru, far western Brazil and far northern Bolivia, with most records from Ucayali, Madre de Dios and Cuzco in Peru. It is the only species in Conioptilon. The bird was described in 1966 by Lowery and O’Neill. Its range is especially tied to swampy and seasonally flooded forest, including areas by lakes and rivers, and it is mostly found below 300 m.
