Black-fronted Parakeet, Cyanoramphus zealandicus, was a parrot of Tahiti in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. It is now extinct and was endemic to that Pacific island. The species was described by Latham in 1790. It is also known as the Tahiti parakeet. The bird was first recorded during James Cook’s initial voyage in 1769, and the last known specimen was taken in 1844 by Lieutenant des Marolles. Specimens from the species are held in Liverpool, Tring, Perpignan and Paris.
