Black-headed Antbird, Percnostola rufifrons, is a passerine antbird of north-east and north-central Amazonia in South America, recorded from Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela. It belongs to the family Thamnophilidae and was first described in 1789. The species is split into four subspecies. It occupies lowland and foothill evergreen forest and mature secondary woodland, especially thick growth, forest margins and openings with dense vegetation. Some forms also use savanna forest, mangroves, flooded forest and sandy-soil forest.
