The Black-headed Apalis is a small passerine bird native to eastern Africa. It is characterized by its black head, white underparts, and olive-green upperparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of montane forests and forest edges. The Black-headed Apalis primarily forages for insects and caterpillars in the mid to upper canopy of the forest. It is a monogamous species and builds a cup-shaped nest in the fork of a tree.
