Black-headed Bee-eater, Merops breweri, is a bird of forests in tropical West and Central Africa, breeding from Ivory Coast and Ghana through southern Nigeria and northern Central African Republic, and from Gabon to western South Sudan, central DR Congo and north-western Angola. It is a member of the bee-eater family and was described by Cassin in 1859. The adult is marked by a black head, green upperparts and tail, and buff underparts with a rufous band across the lower breast. Juveniles have a black chin and throat.
